The Queen Elizabeth II Library's U.S. depository collection consists of publications dating from 1956 to 1992. The collection is on microcard from 1956-1980 and on microfiche from 1981-1992 and is housed in offsite storage. It is arranged in monthly catalog number order for the period up to 1990 (eg. 81-3648). The collection is arranged in Superintendent of Documents number order for the years 1991 and 1992 (eg. The library has two online indexes to this collection: The Monthly Catalog of United States Government Publications, 1895 - June 1976, and the Catalog of U.S. Government Publications, July 1976 onwards with retrospective coverage back to the late 1800s.
For the years 1956-1981 and 1984, the collection includes the depository publications of all the United States federal government bodies. However, for 1982, 1983 and 1985-1992, the library's partial holdings include publications from the following departments only.
